Accessibility

The paper world still has to work.

This page describes the implementation that was tested in this local build, not an aspiration disguised as a result.

Contrast and reading surfaces

Default text uses Ink Black on Paper Cream or Yellow. Inverse sections use Paper Cream on Midnight or Crimson Violet. The approved pairs meet WCAG AA for normal text. Long-form pages use a stable cream surface and a reading measure no wider than 68 characters.

Keyboard and focus

Links, menu controls, search and buttons use native elements. Every keyboard-focusable control has a visible four-pixel outline with space around it. The first focusable link skips directly to the main content.

Motion

Autonomous motion is limited to a small hinged movement in the homepage character composition. It stops on reading pages and when the device requests reduced motion. Smooth scrolling is not used.

Text size and structure

Body text remains at least 16 pixels and scales with browser settings. Pages use one main heading, logical subheadings, landmarks, lists and labelled navigation. The layout remains usable at 200 per cent zoom and narrow widths without page-level horizontal scrolling.

Images and decoration

Meaningful character imagery has concise alternative text. Decorative figures use empty alternative text and are hidden from assistive technology. CSS paper objects that convey a project concept use a short image description. Texture never carries information.

Touch targets

Navigation, buttons, form controls and card links provide a minimum 44 by 44 CSS-pixel interaction area. Irregular visible edges never reduce the rectangular hit area.
